Time for another HDH!

I've re-vamped my Harriet style, mostly making it a lot longer, and made a special dip-dyed texture for HDH! I really liked how it ended up coming out so I might make more! We'll see ;)

St. Patty's Day!

Hi All!

So, I made some St. Patty's day hair for a great new event at my main store's sim: Onyx Mall. Every Thursday and Friday the designers are setting up two items right in front of the store that will be special priced at $69L each! So, I decided to make 2 St. Patty's day styles :) Once the event was over I was kind of thinking what to do with them, since there really was still another few days until the actual St. Patty's, so I decided to put them up for bargain sale at both the main store and my Accessory Fair 2010 booth!

You can find them at both places for just $10L now! Here are the pics:

Accessory Fair 2010!

Hi all!
Finally getting around to posting about the Accessory Fair 2010! My release for the AF 2010 has been my biggest release to date. So I'm going to try to split this up into two posts, one for the releases and one for the freebie, cheapie, and special events. Since it's the Accessory Fair this release is choc-full of hairs with accessories on them! It gave me a great reason to experiment with new techniques, so I hope you like what I came up with. Ok, I'll start with the new releases!

All of these styles will be available at the Glance International Agency Accessory Fair 2010 from March 6 - 27. After the fair they'll come over to the Main Store at Onyx Mall!
Here's a taxi to my booth at the fair: * RezIpsa Loc * @ AF 2010

Ready... set... PICs!

(Working on credits and bio stuff... hopefully be done by the end of the day!)

Anna, Broadway
The theme for AF 2010 is "Broadway Nights" so, as my first style, I decided to make a "Broadway" version of my last released Anna style. The mask has three flexi feathers, two strands of pearls, and is color change!

Hair: RezIpsa Loc, Anna, Broadway, 11pm
Skin: Leafy,

Letitia
Here's Letitia! This is a re-vamped version of the Letitia style I released for Weekend Fever a month or so ago. This Letitia has a different texture in the pony tail, and I've actually changed the heard in the hat to be the RezIpsa Loc logo heart! Now both the color band and the heart on the hat are color change! They are each independently color change so you can mix and max as desired.

Julia
I had so much fun with Julia! This is also a new and improved version of a recent Weekend Fever release, but with a fuller pony-tail and way more color and pattern options in the clip! As the picture says, over 15 options.

Hair: RezIpsa Loc, Anna, Broadway, 11pm

Sarah
Sarah is a brand-spanky-new style released for the very first time for AF 2010! When I thought of accessories, besides a hat, the first thing that came to mind was a flower (most likely because I really wish it were Spring already!). The flower is color change as well. My favorite thing about this style is the flexies in the front. I wasn't able to catch it here, but it looks so great with earrings! Check out this pic by the super sexy KawaiiNicole.

Margaret
Last, but certainly not least, is Margaret. I'm kind of a total iPod junkie (if I don't have it for my subway rides the commute is pretty much unbearable). So, I thought I'd make a style with the accessory I wear the very most, headphones! The headphones in this style are totally color change, and by that I mean every single piece, except for the little metal that connects the band to the headphones, can be independently changed to any of 10 colors! So, you can just change the ear-pieces, or go all out funkadelic! My absolutely favorite part about Margaret is the bangs. I love how this sculptie came out so I'm definitely going to try out more styles with it!

Hair: RezIpsa Loc, Margaret, 1pm
Skin: Pink Fuel,
Hoodie: Intrigue Co.,

To come...

Oh, and I almost forgot! I also decided to sell the mask I made for the Anna style separately. It's going for just $50L and comes with 2 masks, one that attaches right on your eyes, and one that attaches above the head so you can wear it with any hair style you want!

Credits:
Mask: RezIpsa Loc, Broadway Nights Mask (Available at the AF)
Skin: Pink Fuel
Top: Cupcakes
Jewelry: $GaNKeD$

Yeay, that's it for this post! Come by and check out the booth at the AF 2010!
See you there!

You Say Tomato, I say...

...Weekend Fever!!!
It's Weekend Fever time again, and this weekend's common color is Tomato Red! As I did last week I decided to make a special re-color of one of the new styles I'm working on. So, this is the Tomato Red version of Julia. :) I've added in the common color in both the sexy/edgy streaks on the sides, and on the hair clip, which you can click for 5 different red patterns:
I'd been trying to make a "poof" style for a while now, but hadn't been happy with it; until yesterday when I got word at the last minute that there was still one spot left in this weekend's event! Nothing like a deadline for inspiration ;D I really like how this style turned out, so look for it to come out in all colors in the future! Ok, credits next, and then some gushing about what I'm wearing:

Credits:
Hair: RezIpsa Loc, Julia, Tomato Red, Weekend Fever!
Skin: Leafy, Miso Lumiel, Golden, Red Packet Hunt Gift
Top: GryphonWings Designs, Flurry Cowl, Red/Gold
Earrings: $GaNKeD$, Nightdance
Lip Piercing: skream!, confession piercing
Bracelets: Pacadi Jasha, Tahta Bracelet II, Black

As usual the Weekend Fever item will be out until Sunday at midnight, and will be going for just $50L! Here's a Taxi to pic it up!

Gushing:
Skin & Top: I am in love with pretty much everything I'm wearing in this pic. First of all, how amazingly well does this Leafy skin go with this top?!? I found out about this amazing top from one of my fave blogs, The Freebie Telegraph. There are 4 colors, each for just 8L, and the pack of all 4 is going for 28L at GryphonWings Designs! O.o It's for a limited time only, so rush to get these, they're amazing!
And then, I was thinking, what makeup should I wear with this... I need to have red red lips, common color is tomato red o' course, but I also wanted to echo some of the amazing gold feather detailing on the top... In comes Leafy to the rescue! Red lips, gold eye shadow.
Jewelry: On the jewelry side, I have to give mad props to the designer from $GaNKeD$, who made the earrings I'm wearing. These earrings are really only the tip of the iceberg. The jewelry from there is among the most intricate and amazing I've seen on the grid. My next style pic I'm really going to try to feature one of the gorgy necklaces! (They didn't work right with the top, cuz they're big!)
I don't know if it can be really appreciated here, but the lip pierce I'm wearing from skream! is so so cute. It has a teeny-tiny little dangly cross that sits right under the middle of your lower lip. The super tiny-ness of it is so impressive to me. That seems hard to make!
Lastly, yeah, I've worn these Pacadi Jasha bracelets a lot, I know, but it's because that's how much I lurve them. I mean, look at them! They're hawt and they go with everything!

Ok, the end!

Meet Anna!

Finally finished the Anna Style! First up is a pic of the Anna style, with credits and bio... then be sure to read on for a pic of the group gift!

Anna
It's a fully-sculptie look, with a healthy bunch of flexi-prims sprinkled in for movement. And, best part, it's available in the newly over-hauled hair textures! You can check out the new hair textures in the previous post. I'd been meaning to make a "one-eyed" style for a while now, where the bangs cover up one eye, and I finally got around to it. Yeay.

Oh! And, as per usual, I added this one color, the 4pm brown, to the Lucky Chair! Enough talk, here's the pic:

Credits
Hair: RezIpsa Loc, Anna, 4pm
Skin: Leafy, Miso, Sun, Salad
Dress: Zaara, Mrinali, Bluebells
Earrings: Zeery, Cube-Cloth Earrings, Grassy Stream

Anna Harrison
July 25, 1775 - Feb. 24, 1864. First Lady from March 4, 1841 - April 4, 1841. Hubby: William Henry Harrison. Yup, you're not reading those dates wrong, she was first lady for just one month, due to the death of her hubby exactly one month after his inauguration. She grew up in Long Island, receiving an unusually broad education for a woman of her times. While visiting family in Kentucky she met Lieutenant William Henry Harrison. Her father disapproved of the relationship that following, mostly because he didn't want his daughter to endure the hardships of living in an army camp the rest of her life. Anna was packing to move to the White House when she learned of her husband's death in Washington.

Group Gift!
To accompany the release of the Anna style I decided to release this Group Gift! It is the same Anna, 4pm style, but with a bunch of hair chunks in dyed in a different color. There are 4 hairs in the gift, each one with different color chunks. The color chunks are in my 4 "After Hours" pack colors: 1am (green), 2am (blue), 3am (purple), 4am (hot pink!). Here's a pic:
Credits
Hair: RezIpsa Loc, Anna, Group Gift
Skin: Pink Fuel, Skye, Chai, Girly
Necklace: Pink Fuel, Bottle Charm Necklace, Gatcha item
Top: Atomic, Shooting Star, Pink

The Group Gift Anna hairs can be found in the group past notices. To join the group just click on the group joiner thingie at the front of the store, click the link that shows up in the local chat, click join, and then go to the "notices" tab. :)

Now that the new textures are done I hope to be able to churn out some more styles. That's it for now! Hope you like!

Mmmm, Honey...

Its Weekend Fever time! And, as the title implies, the common color for this weekend's event is Honey Yellow. Check out what I came up with:
Credits
Hair: RezIpsa Loc, Anna, Honey ~ Weekend Fever
Skin: Leafy, Miso, Sun/Emerald (you can only see the "sun" part in the pic, but the other eye shadow is an amazing color of green... how fab is that!)
Top: DeeTaleZ, shorty top, mint + fri.day, basic white cami

So, Anna is the new style I'm going to roll out a.s.a.p.. The style itself was pretty much finished about a week ago, however, I'm also working on an overhaul of all of my textures (mostly adding more detail and tweaking some colors a bit). This Weekend Fever Anna is a bit of a preview since it actually does have one of the re-worked textures. This one will be the new 7am version (second to lightest of the reds). I absolutely love how this one came out, so I had to use it. As soon as I'm done with all the new textures, and I color all of them in for Anna, it'll be ready for you gals!

Also, small *squee!* on Leafy... which I just discovered like a week ago and am now slightly obsessed with... the store has everything from shapes to poses to skins, but I'm currently in awe of the skins. The skins themselves are super detailed, and the makeups are both totally artistic and totally wearable at the same time. Exhibit A: is the skin I used in the pic, which has an amazing two-tone eye shadow makeup. It's one of the many gifts in the Thibedeau "My Funny Valentine" event, which goes until February 22nd I believe. Something that also brought me joy: Leafy is right next to one of my other faaaave stores, Pink Fuel, and the prize I got from the event had gifts from both of them! /me swoons... Ok, end of rant about awesome stores/designers :D

Valentine's Weekend Fever!

It's weekend fever time again! This week's colors are Pink and Red to celebrate V-day.

I wanted to make something new this time, instead of a special edition re-color of a previous hair. The pic below is what I came up with!

Credits
Hair: RezIpsa Loc, Letitia, Valentines
Skin: PinkFuel, Pink Sugar, Valentine's Day Bazaar
Top: Ohmai!, Asymmetry Bodysuit
Necklace: Little Pricks, My Gory Valentine Necklace (Tainted Love Hunt)

I've been wanting to do something with a hat for a long time, and after playing around with about a gagillion ideas and trying to start building, scraping it, and starting over again a bunch of times, I finally finished this look at about 5am est! I definitely should have started making something earlier, but I totally let myself wait until the hunt color was assigned, oops! ;D

So, this is Letitia. I liked how it came out so much I'm pretty sure I'm going to make the hat more non-valentine's and color the hair for sale when I finish re-working my hair textures!

Anywho, come on down and pick up this Weekend Fever special edition at the store! I'm leaving it out through Monday because it's a long holiday in the US, so that still counts as the weekend!

Weekend Fever!

* RezIpsa Loc * is in this weekend's Weekend Fever event!

I'm so excited to be part of this awesome craze that's swarming all over the SL fashion world! I love the idea of giving everyone one common idea and then seeking the amazing variety of things designers in SL can come up with from that starting point. So, I'm really happy and honored to be included in the event and to try my hand at something like this. This weekend's common color is Mint Green, and here's what I came up with:

It's a re-colorized version of my Martha hair! I've re-worked the textures all over the hair to give it a more natural look, and I've changed all of the flexies in the front part of the hair to a brand new "hair chunks/strands" textures that I've been working on for the past week; of course, in the signature mint green color!
Credits:
Hair: RezIpsa Loc, Martha, Mint Chocolate
Skin: Belleza, Alyson, Group Gift
Shirt: fri.day, Basic White Tee (freebie as part of the free.kini)
Bangles: Pacadi Jasha, Tahta Bracelet II, Black

Here's some info on the event:
So, come on down to the store and pick up this limited time only Martha, Mint Chocolate, Weekend Fever hair for just $50L before it's gone Sunday at midnight!

Ciao for now!

Anna ~ Work in Progress

Hi all,
Just wanted to put up some pics of the new style I'm working on. Two big new things in this one are: brand new scultpies and new textures. Enough talk for now, here are some pics, some more words below:

Sculpties - So, I just got two new big packs of sculpties and this was my first plunge into fully sculpted hair (i.e. no prims, and no flexies). Since this is all scultpies I wanted to give it some "movement" so I made one side look like it was slightly wind-swept.
Texture - I've been thinking of new ways to add more realism and depth to my hair so I've been experimenting with some changes to my textures. The texture in these pics is still very similar to my old ones, but I've added what I call a "sun light" highlight to the hair, so that it looks more shiny/glossy.

Ok, so now I'm going to ask for any thoughts, suggestions, criticisms, screams of horror, etc. that you might have. I really do want to get better at this, so I really do welcome any and all feedback! :)

Thanks!
Rezzie

Two New Styles! ~ Rachel & Hannah

Rachel
Rachel is based off of my most popular style to date, Martha. It keeps the hair over the shoulder, but I've updated the bangs so that they go back to the ears. I've also made it so all the hair is behind the ears so you can show off some great earrings! Rachel also has a color change head band which comes with 10 different color options. The head band is made from 2 prims, and each is controlled by separate color change script, so you can change the colors on each one individually for endless color combos (ok, not endless, technically 100, but ya know, close enough!).
Credits
Hair: RezIpsa Loc, Rachel, 7am
Skin: Free Speerit, Maya Pale Prototype, Natural
Top: RezIpsa Loc, Qtπ T-Shirt, Green
Jewelry: Alienbear, Agnes Earrings

Rachel Adams
June 15, 1787 - Dec. 22, 1828. Hubby: Andrew Jackson. She was known for her intelligence and wit and was clearly able to hold her own in any conversation. Andrew Jackson was totally devoted to her and fought a reported 13 duels to protect her honor. He even killed one opponent, Charles Dickinson. She died suddenly of a heart attack on Dec. 22, 1828; just two weeks after Andrew Jackson has won the presidential election, but prior to his inauguration. Over 10,000 people attended her funeral. She was buried on Christmas Eve in her white inaugural gown.

~ • ~ • ~ § ~ • ~ • ~

Hannah
I'm currently really into the head band thing, so Hannah is also sporting a 10 color changing head band. It also is 2 separately color-changeable prims, so color change away! The bangs are straight cut, and the hair is kept behind the ears. Hannah is my first attempt at curly/wavy hair. I've used two types of sculpties to achieve both the wavy look in the back and add some little curls here and there. I decided to make is a more playful look by making it just above the shoulders in length.

Hair: RezIpsa Loc, Hannah, 10am
Skin: Vive9, Marianne, Babydoll, Light
Top: Fri.day, Ballet Sweater, Berry
Jumper: COCO Designs, Salopette, Dark Blue
Glasses: SeraKorea, Glasses, Wood Style
Jewelry: Pink Fuel, Gatcha Bottle Charm Necklace

Hannah Van Buren
March 8, 1783 - Feb. 5, 1819. Hubby: Martin Van Buren. They were married when Martin was 24 and Hannah was 23. They had been childhood sweethearts and were first cousins once removed. Even though she died before Martin became President, she is considered a First Lady. Martin Van Buren never remarried and was one of the few Presidents to be unmarried while in office. His daughter in law, Angelica Singleton Van Buren, performed as hostess for White House events.

Hi all!

After a few people asked me I finally got around to opening a group in world. And, of course, created a freebie to go along with it! You can join the group by clicking the Group Joinder sign at the entrance to the store (see pic to the right). Once you click the sign click the link from Chat History (Ctrl+H) and then click on JOIN button!

Sweet! Now you're in the group. Next up, the group gift! I've out the group gift in the notices. First 5 Styles!

Quick Note about Style Names:
I am a big fan of American history, government, and politics, and in particular of the women who helped shape the U.S. as I know it. So, I am naming all of my hair-styles after notable women in U.S. History, starting with all of our first ladies. Now, I'm not going to try to replicate the actual styles these First Ladies wore, since most of them, especially the early ones, wore styles which now a days... well, lets just say they're not very much "in." However, I am going to try to give a little biographical and interesting and/or funny info on each woman I'm naming a style after. So, I'll start with Martha:

Martha
First, of course, is Martha Washington. This is my very first hair build. It's a long hair with straight cut front bangs. The longer parts are sculpties, the bangs are prims, and it also has flexi locks for some nice movement.

Credits
Hair: RezIpsa Loc, Martha, 8pm
Skin: Vive9, Grace v2, Light
Top: Cupcakes, Stripey Dress Gift

Martha Washington
June 2, 1791 - March 2, 1822. First Lady from April 30, 1789-March 4, 1797. Hubby: George Washington. Although the title was not coined until after her death, she is considered to be the first First Lady of the United States. She was actually 27 when she married George Washington, since he was her second husband, the first having died a few years earlier. Her and Washington actually had no children, but did raise Martha's children from an earlier marriage. Martha's first husband was very wealthy and left her and their children with a large estate. When she married George they used much of her wealth to acquire land.

Abigail
Next is Abigail Adams. She is definitely one of my faves. Since I made this style around Christmas time I decided to make it a Holiday gift. Once the Holidays are over I'm going to make a non-Holiday version; so the same style, minus the bells and stars in the back, and I'll make the bow color change via script.

Credits
Hair: RezIpsa Loc, Abigail-Holiday, 11pm
Skin: Curio, ::GP:: Elf - Petal, Dark
Top: Truth, Martini Dress
Jewelry: PERTURB/ation, Noel Set

Abigail Adams
Nov. 11, 1744 - Oct. 28, 1818. First Lady from March 4, 1797 - March 4, 1801. Hubby: John Adams. She is remembered most for her many letters with her husband during his time at the Continental Congress. He often sought her advice on many matters and their letters are filled with intellectual discussions on government and politics. The letters provide an invaluable eyewitness account of the Revolutionary War as well as an excellent source of commentary of the politics of the day.

Dolley
Technically, next would be Martha Jefferson. However, I'm skipping her because having two Martha's so close is confusing, and she actually was never a first lady since she died many years before Jefferson became President. So, next is Dolley Madison! This is a more playful style with a short stubby pony tail and straight cut front bangs.

Credits
Hair: RezIpsa Loc, Dolley, 1pm
Skin: Imagen, (IS) Mira, Este
Top: RezIpsa Loc, Stay Classy
Jewelry: Noir Lolita, Dog Tag
Dolley Madison
May 20, 1768 - July 12, 1849. First Lady from March 4, 1809 - March 3, 1817. Hubby: James Madison. She occasionally acted as First lady during the Jefferson administration before Madison took office since he was a widower. During the War of 1812, Dolley's role as First Lady was tested when British troops invaded D.C. in August, 1814. Courageously, she stayed behind (even after many state officials, including her own body guard, had left) until vital state documents, silver, and most notably, the famous portrait of George Washinton were removed safely by wagon. Her and James returned three days later to find the White House burned down.

Elizabeth
This is the most formal of my first batch of styles, which is fitting as Elizabeth Monroe was a very elegant First Lady. The pearls that adorn the bun are a series of micro-beads. Before I made this style I knew what micro's were, but had no idea how to make them. Then I stumbled upon the best tutorial given by LeeZu, which you should totally check out!

Elizabeth Monroe
June 30, 1768(1768-06-30-September 23, 1830. First lady from March 4, 1817 – March 3, 1825. Hubby: James Monroe. In 1794, Elizabeth Monroe accompanied her husband to France when President Washington appointed him United States Minister. Arriving in Paris in the midst of the French Revolution, she took a dramatic part in saving Lafayette's wife, imprisoned and expecting death on the guillotine. With only her servants in her carriage, the American Minister's wife went to the prison and asked to see Madame Lafayette. Soon after this hint of American interest, the prisoner was set free. The Monroes became very popular in France, where the diplomat's lady received the affectionate name of la belle Americaine.

Louisa
Finally, the long pony-tailed Louisa, which comes with a color change bow. Each prim is separately scripted. At first this was because I have no idea how to make all of them change by clicking just one prim (if anyone out there can clue me in drop me a line!). However, I kind of like the this since you can change each piece to get a desired look.

Louisa Adams
February 12, 1775-May 15, 1852. Frist lady from March 4, 1825 – March 4, 1829. Hubby: John Quincy Adams. She was often sickly and depressed. Not the least of the causes of her misery was the White House itself. She found it too large, cold, and isolated. She found the condition of the house to be so deplorable that she opened it up for what may have been among the first regular public tours just to prove that she and the President were not living in great luxury as was charged. She did have one moment of gusto when, riding from Russia to Paris she was surrounded by hostile Napoleonic troops who called for her death, assuming she was Russian. Louisa had her servants whisper that she was Napoleon's sister traveling incognito, and in perfect French stepped out of the carriage to rally the troops to salutes to Napoleon. She also began reading the letters of her mother-in-law Abigail Adams and believed they should be published as an inspiration to all American women. The concept of "women's rights" and equality became one of her biggest passions.

Hair Colors and Pricing

I started my venture into hair-making by creating a texture template. My very favorite hairs in SL are those that create a series of highlights and lowlights in as naturally possible a way, and for me this means that the texture doesn't go straight up and down, and that the lighter and darker areas aren't just vertical chunks like a bad highlighting job. So, I did my best to add a natural "wave" to the texture itself.

Next came picking colors! This was by far one of the most fun things to do. Some of the colors are definitely inspired by some of my favorite bloggers and hairs I've had in SL. Once I picked out my colors I needed to come up with how to name them. Naming them the generic red, blond, and brunette wasn't nearly fun enough for me, and I feel that a lot of hair designers already used food-names (chocolate, strawberry, carrot), so I didn't want to do that either. It was actually my girlfriend in RL, peeking over my shoulder while I worked on picking colors, that came up with the brilliant idea of giving them times of day! Here's what I came up with:

After Hours Pack
This was for sure the most fun pack to pick colors for. I rarely wear funky colors like these in world, but for the longest time I was obsessed with the old Magika hot pink hair texture; to the point where I actually dyed a chunk of my RL hair just about the same hot pink color as my 4am texture. Also, since my first batch of hairs came out right during the Holidays the green was fun to work with too.

Morning Pack
The morning pack was also really fun to work on because I've (not-so-secretly to those who know me in RL) always wanted to have red hair (my hair in RL is a dark brown, a pretty brown don't get me wrong, but how amazingly sexy is red hair!). Anywho, I tried to offer a wide range of reds in this pack, from deep auburn to very light strawberry blonde. The deepest shade of red in this pack is inspired by Ana Letutia, whose blog I've followed pretty much since I started SL and I really appreciate for its amazing style sense, super useful SL tips, and really cool/interesting interviews. Go Ana!

Noon Time Pack
Blondes always have more fun! Right? Making this pack was actually a bit of a challenge as lighter colors, in my opinion at least, always tend to show errors in the underlying texture. It's like the RL equivalent of super slinky/tight dress fabrics that make you look out of shape no matter how skinny you are (you know what I mean gals!). However, after some tweaking, I think these actually came out pretty good! My favorite is the 10am, which I tried to make a kind of dirty-blonde. The very platinum noon time, 12pm color is inspired by Gogo and her super sexyblog... I swear I've never seen anyone wear platinum blonde better than her!

Afternoon Pack
At first I actually thought I wasn't going to make this pack... but once I finished it I was so super happy I did. The colors in this pack are what I could call "cool browns" since they all have a tint of ashiness to them that gives them that RL mousey look. The change in shade from one color to the next is a bit subtle, so of any of my packs, if I ever get the time to revisit any of them that might be something I work on a bit more, but for now I love them as they are.

Evening Pack
This pack is what I would call the "warm browns," since they have more of a reddish tinge to them than the Afternoon Pack. The darkest of the pack, 8pm, was actually inspired by my own RL hair, so naturally I love that one the best. Of all of my packs I think this one might be the most versatile since there is such a wide range in shading from 5pm-8pm... kind of like in RL! Hee hee.

Night Time Pack
Last but not least is the Night Time Pack which is, appropriately enough, by black hair pack. In this pack the 10pm is what I would call a more natural black, while the 11pm is more of a snow-white black that reminds me more of hair that's been dyed to be jet-black. Lastly, the midgnight, 12am color is a deep blue-black to add that extra bit of edge to the pack.

Pricing Info:
Lastly, some pricing information: Each one of the packs is going to be $250Ls. The 24-hour pack will be $1000Ls, so if you get that you'll be getting all 6 packs for the price of 4!
